Shirley Mills

Shirley Olivia Mills ( born April 8, 1926 in Tacoma, Washington; † March 31, 2010 in Arcadia, California ) was an American child actress of the 1940s.

Life

After it was pulled in 1937 with her family to Southern California, she was quickly booked as a performer. Through their appearance in The Under- Pup 1939 beside Gloria Jean she attracted the attention of John Ford, who cast her in his then Grapes of Wrath in the following year. After a few more films, even on the side of Shirley Temple, was a member of the Mills Jivin 'Jacks and Jills, a Jitterbug Dance Group at Universal Studios and worked as a model and advertising. From 1946, her film career faltered and ended ten years later entirely.

In her later career she was already in the data processing in the industry and was president of the Data Processing Management Assn. in Los Angeles.

She was married to Mel Hanson from 1977 until his death in 1995. The marriage remained childless.
