Shisochin

Shisochin (Japanese四向 戦) is a kata of karate. It is practiced in Goju - Ryu and Shito- Ryu.

Origin and Name

Shisochin is a variation of the Chinese Shi Zhen Jing shape. Shi means real strength, Zhen describes the choking or holding, Jing is also regarded as force or energy. Higaonna Kanryo learned this Kata from Ryu Ryu Ko, a master of Baihequan. One calls the Kata four fighting monkeys.

Content

In the Shisochin is practiced to attack by strangling or holding techniques or to defend themselves against such techniques. Shisochin as Sansēru focuses on a fight in four directions.
