The SHK 37 Piestany is a Slovak ice hockey club from Piešťany, which was founded in 1937 and has belonged since 2012, the first class Tipsport Extraliga. Play their home games in the club from Zimný Štadión Piešťany, that sums up 3500 spectators.

History

The SHK 37 Piestany was founded in 1937 as a department of the Hockey ŠK Piešťany. That same year saw the spin-off of the department as PHK Piešťany, who took part in the episode as an amateur club in the regional gaming operations.

In the 1980s, the renamed Chirana Piešťany club of the third division of Czechoslovakia belonged to, the second SNHL. Their championship to win the men's team in 1985.

After the dissolution of Czechoslovakia and the division into the two independent states Czech Republic and Slovakia to the SHK 37 Piestany was inducted into the second class first league in which he played until 1997. After descending to the 2nd league he spent one year later, at the end of season 1997/ 98, with the championship in the second league of promotion back to the 1st league. As HK VTJ Marat Piešťany, the association held only one season in this division and took between 1999 and 2003 part of the game operation of the second league. In the season 2002/ 03 Piešťany won the championship of the 2nd league and reached the promotion to the 1st League.

2010 and 2011 of 2004, renamed the SHK 37 Piestany club won the championship of the first league, but failed each against the loser of the Extraliga play -outs in the league relegation. In the spring of 2012, the club's management speculated with a participation in the EBEL and submitted an application for admission, the Slovak Association, however, refused to allow the project approval.

With the addition of HC Slovan Bratislava in the Continental Hockey League who applied the HK Ves ​​, MHk 32 Liptovsky Mikulas, HC 07 Prešov, HC Dukla Senica and SHK 37 Piestany for inclusion in the Extraliga. The Slovak Ice Hockey Federation end of May 2012 decided to SHK 37 Piestany as promoted in the Extraliga.
