Shloka

A shloka (Sanskrit, m., श्लोक, Sloka ) is in the Indian Verslehre a four line verse, in particular, the ancient Indian verse of the Indians.

Originally, the shloka from the four -fold repetition of a syllable verse with iambic di - output consisted. In this form of shloka has already been used in Vedic poetry. However, in order to avoid the tedious form of the ever-recurring pentameter, the following scheme was used in later times: ... u --- | | .... | uu | | (twice), the subject in the art poets still different laws.
