Shlomo Artzi

Shlomo Artzi Hertzig (Hebrew: שלמה ארצי - הרציג; * November 26, 1949 in Moshav Alonei Abba / Northern Israel) is an Israeli pop and rock singer.

He came with his parents, who were Holocaust survivors, aged eight to Tel Aviv. His sister Nava Semel. With 16 years Artzi began composing his own songs and remained musically active during his military service. A great success was his first place at the Israeli Song Festival in 1970, in that year, he released his debut album. After a few years with less success, he managed to establish itself as one of the most famous musicians of Israel in the pop-rock area.

He was selected to represent Israel at the Euro Vision Song Contest 1975. With the self-composed Poptitel At ve'ani he came eleventh.
