Shonan Junai Gumi

Shonan Jun'ai Gumi! (Japanese湘南 纯爱 组!, dt " the True Love gang of Shonan " ) is a closed manga series of the Japanese mangaka Tohru Fujisawa. She ran from 1991 to 1996 and was published in 31 volumes. Shonan Jun'ai Gumi! is the prequel to the manga also appeared in Germany Great Teacher Onizuka. Similar to Great Teacher Onizuka, you can assign the manga genres comedy and drama. Based on the manga and later an anime and a live-action series was produced.

Action

The plot of the manga revolves around the duo Eikichi Onizuka (鬼冢 英 吉) and Ryuji damma (弾 间 龙 二) on their way to lose their virginity and to grow up. Both are dreaded bōsōzoku, which are known for their toughness and hardness in the fight. However, this lifestyle does not just attractive to the ladies, so they decide to change their lives, but this is easier said than done. While the plot progresses, the reader gets to know a wide range of friends and enemies as they fall into the craziest situations and come out again.

The manga was published from March 1991 to December 1996 in individual chapters in Shōnen Magazine and compiled into 31 tankōbon. In Canada and the U.S., the manga by Tokyopop under the title GTO: The Early Years published in Italy by Dynit and in France by Pika Édition.

Anime

On the basis of the manga was published from 1994 to 1997 on VHS a five-part OVA, which was produced by Studio JCStaff. Outside Japan, the OVA was not yet published.

Real movie

From 1995 to 1997 was based on the manga turned live-action film series as well as a V- Cinema. The series consisted of 5 episodes each with a playing time of 93 minutes. The actor Naoki Miyashita ( Eikichi Onizuka ) and Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi ( Ryuji damma ) each played the lead roles. Outside Japan, the series was not yet published.
