Short Circuit 2

Number 5 does not give up ( Short Circuit 2 ) is an American comedy film from the year 1988. The film is a sequel to number 5 is alive! from the year 1986.

Action

The inventor Ben Jahrvi has left the company Nova Robotics and now works in New York City, where he is trying to build toy robots in the form of miniaturized number 5.

He gets support from hawkers Fred Ritter, who scents a big business, as shows the Spielzeugeinkäuferin a large shopping center, Sandy Banatoni, interest in Ben's toy robots. As it turns out that Ben and Fred can not do it alone, to meet the demand, Ben asks his old friend Stephanie for help, who then sends him the real number 5 as support to New York.

Number 5 is fascinated by the big city and learns on a fact-finding tour, a group of criminals know that persuade him to help with a theft. Later, the gangsters severely damage the inconvenient witnesses. After a makeshift auto repair takes number 5, the pursuit of criminals and displays them in the port area. While the incoming police arrested the gangsters, the robot is dying because it has its power supply completely exhausted by his efforts. With the collapse of its energy supply his memory threatens to become (and his life ) irrevocably deleted. Ben prevents this at the last moment with a burst of energy from a defibrillator an ambulance.

The miniature robot Bens be a sales success. In a ceremony at Ben and number 5 will be sworn in as new citizens of the United States.

Reviews

Rita Kempley wrote in the Washington Post on July 6, 1988, the film would be maudlin ( " mawkish " ) and immature ( " sophomoric ").

Awards

The film was nominated for a Saturn Award in the category Best Science Fiction Film and Best Special Effects in 1990.
