Short track speed skating at the 2002 Winter Olympics
In the XIX. 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City eight competitions were held in short track speed skating. Venue was the Salt Lake Ice Center.

The previously existing Olympic record has already been undercut in the first round. Caused a surprise, the disqualification of the audience favorite Apolo Anton Ohno, because of disability.

The Olympic victory of the Australian Short Trackers Steven Bradbury is one of the most curious history. He managed the qualifications for semi-finals and finals only because each in the last corner threw other athletes. In the final, Bradbury was on the last lap back far; but because in the last corner again plunged an athlete and all but it aroused the Bradbury, this could run freely across the finish line.
