Shrine of Bahá'u'lláh

The Shrine of Bahá'u'lláh is a building in the Israeli town of Acre, where the mortal remains of Bahá'u'lláh, the founder of the religion of the Baha'i faith to be kept and which belongs to the Baha'i World Centre. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the villa Bahji, lived in the Baha'u'llah until his death on 29 May 1892. Shortly after sunset, he was buried in the shrine and the shrine subsequently expanded by his son Abdu'l-Baha. Shoghi Effendi, the grandson of Abdu'l -Baha, raised the shrine to the Sacred Site of the Baha'i and described him as " Ocean of Light" ( Darya -yi - Nur ) of the Shrine of the Bab, whom he described as " mountain of light " ( cow -i - Nur ) referred, outshone. The shrine represents the holiest place for the Bahai and is the most important pilgrimage destination during the Baha'i pilgrimage. He also indicates the direction of Qiblih in the daily obligatory prayers and the prayer for the dead. As part of the Baha'i world center of the shrine with the surrounding gardens and the villa Bahji since July 2008, UNESCO World Heritage Site.
