Shtil'
The Russian carrier rocket Schtil (Russian Штиль for wind) is a converted submarine - launched ballistic missile ( SLBM ), which is used for launching satellites into orbit.
It is based on the R- 29RM intercontinental ballistic missile and was developed by the State Rocket Center Makejev. The Schtil rocket is a three-stage launch vehicle, which is operated with liquid fuels. It is the first missile that brought payloads from a submarine in the Earth's orbit.
