Shuhei Morita

Shūhei Morita (Japanese森田 修 平, Morita Shūhei; born June 22, 1978 in Nara Prefecture ) is a Japanese animator.

Life

Morita studied at the Kyoto University of Art and Design and completed his studies in 2001. First films were made already during his studies. He was co-founder in 1999 of the animation studios KamiKaze Doga and in 2003 with Daisuke Sajiki the studio Yamatoworks.

Morita created in 2012 within five months of the short animated film Tsukumo (English Possessions ) as part of the animation project from Katsuhiro Otomo Short Peace. Possessions ran, among other things, 2012 at the Festival d' Annecy Animation competing for the Cristal d' Annecy, Short Peace experienced on July 20, 2013 Japan 's premiere. Morita received for Possessions in 2014 an Oscar nomination in the category of Best Animated Short Film.
