Si Nakhon District

Amphoe Si Nakhon ( Thai: อำเภอ ศรีนคร ) is a district ( Amphoe ) in the eastern part of the province ( Changwat ) Sukhothai in Northern Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are ( from the southwest clockwise): Amphoe Sawankhalok and the Si Satchanalai the province of Sukhothai, as well as Tron and Phichai the province of Uttaradit.

History

Nakhon Si was on 20 January 1976 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established, consisting of the two tambon Si Sakhon Nakhon and Doet of Amphoe Sawankhalok. On July 13, 1981 Nakhon Si received the full Amphoe status.

Management

The circle is divided into five subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 49 villages ( Muban ).

Si Nakhon ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ศรีนคร ) is also the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district. It consists of parts of the tambon same name.

There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
