Si Racha District

Amphoe Si Racha ( Thai: อำเภอ ศรีราชา, pronounced: [amp ʰ ɤ ː ː ra ː sǐ ʰ a ː t͡ɕ ] ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Chonburi. The Chonburi province is located in the eastern region of central Thailand. The capital of the county is called Si Racha. The largest city in Amphoe since 2013 Chaophraya Surasak that no city in the settlement geographical sense, however, but was declared only for administrative purposes into one.

Geography

Si Racha is located on the east coast on the Gulf of Thailand, about 120 kilometers southwest of the capital Bangkok, halfway between Chonburi and Pattaya.

The neighboring Amphoe are from clockwise from the north: Mueang Chonburi, Ban Bueng, Nong Yai, Pluak Daeng ( Rayong Province), Bang Lamung and the Gulf of Thailand.

Economy

The newly created in the 1990s, commercial port in Laem Chabang is an important economic factor for Amphoe Si Racha. It was 2011, with a turnover of 5.73 million TEUs (slightly less than the Container Terminal Bremerhaven ) of 23 among the most tarnished container ports in the world.

Education

Amphoe Si Racha is the seat of the main campus of Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan -ok. This area has a side campus of Kasetsart University.

In Si Racha, there is also an offshoot of the renowned, operated by the Gabrielistenbrüdern, private Assumption School.

Traffic

By Amphoe Si Racha leads a branch of the East Line of the Thai State Railway and has here two breakpoints ( Bang Phra Si Racha and branch ). The Laem Chabang Port is accessible by a separate line for freight traffic.

Through the region which have at times toll motorway 7 (Bangkok - Chonburi Motorway ) which connects Bangkok with Pattaya, as well as the older Sukhumvit Thanon leads ( the eastern main arterial road of Bangkok; National Road 3) in one direction to Bangkok and in the other to leads the Cambodian border.

In Amphoe Si Racha Thailand's first division football club FC Sriracha is located.

Management

The district Si Racha is divided into eight subdistricts ( tambon), which continued in 58 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

Si Racha ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง ศรีราชา ) is also the name of a city ( Mueang thesaban ) in the district, it consists of the whole tambon Si Racha.

There are two major towns in the County:

  • Laem Chabang ( เทศบาล นคร แหลม ฉบัง ) set containing the entire Tambon Thung Sukhla, parts of Bueng, Surasak, Nong Kham and parts of Bang Lamung from the neighboring district of Bang Lamung.
  • Chaophraya Surasak ( เทศบาล นคร เจ้าพระยา สุรศักดิ์ ) consists of parts of Tambon Surasak, Bueng, Nong Kham Khao Khan Song and Bo Win.

There is a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Bang Phra ( เทศบาล ตำบล บาง พระ ) consists of parts of the tambon Bang Phra.

There are also four " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
