Sibagat, Agusan del Sur
Sibagat is a Philippine municipality in the province of Agusan del Sur. The municipality is located 29 kilometers from Butuan City. The economy is highly dependent on subsistence farming.
Origin of the name
The name derives from the word Sibagat bagat from (meetings, or meeting place ).
According to the story handed down orally, was the river near Sigabat, which also bears the name Sigabat, venue, or meeting place for fights between warmongering tribes.
Most of the inhabitants of the municipality are migrants from Visayas and here mainly from Cebu.
