Siberian State University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Reschetnjow University (Russian Сибирский государственный аэрокосмический университет имени академика М. Ф. Решетнёва, СибГАУ ) is a university in Krasnoyarsk (Russia). The university was founded in 1960 as a branch of the Siberian State Technological University.
History
The university has taken different names since 1989, " Institute of cosmic art " ( Красноярский институт космической техники, КИКТ ) and since 1992 " Siberian Aerospace Academy " ( Сибирская аэрокосмическая академия, САА ). In 1996, the Academy was renamed in honor of Academician Mikhail Fedorovich Reschetnjow. In 2002, the Academy got the status of a university.
Cooperation and developments
The University has a license from the Federal Space Agency. She also conducts basic research and working on their own research topics with local and foreign companies. The basic partner for university research activity are Krasmasch ( major manufacturer of ballistic missiles for submarines), Informative satellite systems (main manufacturer and producer of communications satellites, tele broadcast, navigation and geodesy) and KrasAir (one of the best airlines of Russia).
The Siberian State University of Aerospace has partner universities in Germany, the United States and the Czech Republic. These are University of Ulm, SUNY Oneonta and the Czech Technical University in Prague. Nine universities of Russia together ( with University of Aeronautics and Astronautics ) have created the so-called " United Space University ". This is the integration of scientific and economic resources of aerospace universities, which is the basis for the joint development and education improvement. With the participation of the University 's first center for Engineering Education was founded in Krasnoyarsk.

The Siberian State University of Aerospace prepares professionals before for the cosmic branch of mechanical engineering, the IT professionals, economists, the professionals, the professionals in the field of public relations and advertising management. The total number of students in the Reschetnjow University transgresses 11,500 people.
