Sibnarayan Ray

Sibnarayan Ray ( Bengali: শিবনারায়ণ রায়, Śibnārāẏaṇ Ray, Shibnarayan Ray, born January 20, 1921 in Kolkata, West Bengal, † February 26, 2008 in Shantiniketan, West Bengal ) was an eminent Indian Bengali philosopher and literary critic. Sustainable gained notoriety for his work on Manabendra Nath Roy.

Life

Ray was born into a bookish family. Early on, he turned to socialism, but in opposition to Stalin. He joined the Calcutta University from (English and Literature ). He participated in the 1963 to 1981 at the Melbourne University. Ray was a follower of the radical humanism of Manabendra Nath Roy. He opposed religions, since they prevent free thinking.
