Sid Caesar

Sid Caesar ( born September 8, 1922 in Yonkers, New York, † February 12, 2014 in Los Angeles ) was an American jazz saxophonist and comedian.

Life

Caesar began his career as a successful saxophonist who both played in the orchestras of Charlie Spivak, Shep Fields and Claude Thornhill, as was also active in jazz combos. Later he moved on to acting, where he took mainly comedy roles. He became known in the early 1950s in the United States through his weekly television comedy Your Show of Shows.

Among other things, he starred in the movie A totally, totally crazy world and Mel Brooks - The History of the World with.

He was married and had three children.
