Sieciech

Sieciech ( † 28 June prior to 1113 ) was a Polish magnate and voivode of the Polish duke Władysław I Herman.

Sieciech probably came from the Starza clan, he was the Palatine ( Voivode ) of Duke Władysław I Herman, at least since 1090th In fact Sieciech ruled in the name Władysław in Poland and decided on the occupation of offices in conquered Pomerania. 1092/1093 he moved with Bolesław III. Wrymouth against Bohemia. 1093 he suppressed the opposition against him and imprisoned the Duke Zbigniew son in his castle (probably Sieciechów on the Vistula ) a. 1097 Sieciech was forced to let Zbigniew, was defeated 1098-1100 of opposition to Władysław sons Zbigniew and Bolesław, lost his offices and was banished. After his return, he apparently played no political role. Noteworthy are Sieciechs coinage in his name. He was probably the founder of the Canons Regular monastery in Sieciechów and St. Andrew's Church in Krakow.
