Geography

Siedenburg located near the natural park Geest and the Natural Park Steinhude approximately in the middle between Nienburg / Weser and Sulingen. The municipality is the administrative seat of the velvet municipality Siedenburg, with the places Borstel, Maassen, Mellinghausen, Siedenburg and Staffhorst.

History

For the first time Siedenburg castle was mentioned in 1294 in the chronicle of country bailiff Marquard of testicular castle who used the lost " Bückener annals ".
