Siegfried Fülle

Siegfried abundance ( born October 6, 1939 in Greiz ) is a former German gymnast. He won in 1964 and 1968, two bronze medals in the team all-around at Olympic Games and won 1960-1968 DDR Championships 14 individual national titles.

Sporting successes

Siegfried Fülles home club was the first locomotive SC Leipzig and later the SC DHfK Leipzig, in which Rudolf Schumacher was his coach. He took 1960-1968 participated in three Summer Olympics and won at the Games in Tokyo in 1964, a bronze medal in the team all-around with the all-German team. Four years later he repeated this success with the team of the GDR at the games in 1968 in Mexico City. His best finish in a single competition was a seventh place in the individual all-around at the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960.

The World Gymnastics Championships in 1966, he finished with the East German team to third place in the team all-around. In the years 1960, 1961, 1963 and 1967 he was East German champion in the individual all-around. An individual devices he won GDR Champion title in 1960, 1962, 1963 and 1966 in the rings gymnastics, 1959, 1963 and 1967 on the horizontal bar, the parallel bars in 1963, 1966 in the floor exercises and 1968 horse jump.

Life after competitive sports

Siegfried wealth coached after his retirement, among others Klaus Köste, who was at the Games in Munich in 1972 Olympic champion in horse jumping. From 1991 to 2004 he served as the national coach of the Bavarian Gymnastics Federation at the State Training Centre in Munich operates, in addition he worked during this time as coach of the turn- Bundesliga team FC Bayern Munich, as well as a lecturer in sports science at the University of Munich.
