Sierra Boggess

Sierra Boggess Marjory ( born May 20, 1982 in Denver, Colorado) is an American soprano and musical actress. She became famous as the original cast of Christine Daaé in the musical Love Never Dies.

Life

Sierra Boggess grew up in Denver. She is the daughter of Kellun Turner and Michael Boggess and has two sisters named Summer and Allegra. At the Millikin University in Decatur she earned 2004 Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre.

Career

After she had previously occurred as a second or main occupation of various roles in various musical productions, Sierra Boggess debuted in November 2007 as Ariel in The Little Mermaid on Broadway. She played this role until the end of May 2009. Afterwards she moved to London's West End and went from February 2010 to March 2011 as Christine Daaé in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Love Never Dies on. Along with her playing partner Ramin Karimloo she also sang the concept album of the musical. The two were also seen in their roles in an anniversary performance of Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall which is released on CD and DVD.

Boggess joined thereupon, inter alia, in Master Class on (Broadway, 2011), Les Misérables (West End, 2012-2013) and The Phantom of the Opera (Broadway, 2013).

In early December 2013, appear Boggess ' first album Awakening. This is a live recording of concerts that has given in the New York nightclub 54 Below the singer.

Awards

In 2008, Boggess was nominated for a Drama Desk Award and the Drama League Award in the category "Outstanding Actress in a Musical " and " Distinguished Performance" ( The Little Mermaid ). In 2011 she was a prime candidate for the Laurence Olivier Award for " Best Actress in a Musical" ( Love Never Dies).
