Siese

Siese was an Egyptian official of the 12th dynasty, who probably officiated under Amenemhat II.

Siese is mainly known from his mastaba, which Jacques de Morgan in 1895 unearthed at Dahshur. The later published excavation publication is, however, very summarily, so it is difficult to get an idea of the construction. It was also published no plan. In the actual Mastaba, there were four limestone charts showing Siese before an offering table. Noteworthy is the representation of the Siese, which is clearly shown as an older man. 2009, the grave of Siese was recovered and opened by an Egyptian excavation team.

On the tables, there are also his titles, including that of the vizier and the Treasurer. The walls of his grave chamber were described with Pyramid Texts. Siese is perhaps known from other monuments, which suggests that he was head of the Cabinet and then top asset managers first. His mastaba, which still held Karl Richard Lepsius for a pyramid, is located near the pyramid of Amenemhet II, so it can be assumed that he held these offices during whose reign.
