Sigfrit Steiner

Sigfrit Steiner ( born October 31, 1906 in Basel, BS, † March 21, 1988 in Munich) was a Swiss actor and director.

Life

The son of a dentist and an actress completed his training at the Drama School of the Deutsches Theater in Berlin under Max Reinhardt and debuted as a stage actor in 1928 in Gera. Numerous theater engagements should follow, including Berlin, Lucerne, Bern, Zurich and Munich. From 1972 to 1974 Steiner was a member of the Vienna Burgtheater.

His film debut was in 1938 with the Swiss Film production Fusilier Wipf ( Director: Leopold Lindtberg ). This was followed by more than 200 roles in film and television, such as 1958 in It happened in broad daylight and Schinderhannes, 1962 in Georg Kreisler parody Sodom and Andorra, 1966 in Without a permanent residence with Hans Possenbacher or in the same year as Dr. Stass in an episode of the cult series space Patrol. Sigfrit Steiner was, until his death married in second marriage to journalist and author Anne Rose Katz.
