SIGG is a company that specializes in the manufacture of bottles and this produces in Switzerland. SIGG Switzerland, in the field of aluminum water bottles as a global market leader in Europe and has over an estimated market share of more than 50 %.

History

The company was founded in 1908 by Ferdinand Sigg and Xaver Küng under the name Küng, Sigg & Cie.. founded in Biel. The product framework comprised leisure goods, cookware and electrical appliances. Around 1910, the still famous " Walking bottle " designed. 1916, the company moved to its current headquarters in Frauenfeld. It produced, among others, the pressure cooker Flexil.

1936, the company was acquired by the aluminum products factory Gontenschwil AG under the direction of Heinrich Alfred Gautschi. SIGG was at that time the largest domestic customer of Alu Menziken. At this time the steam pot " Arta -Pot " one of the most common products of SIGG and was used, among other things on the first Himalayan expedition of Norman Dyhrenfurth. 1996 SIGG was sold by Alu Menziken.

Since 1998, SIGG focused on business with bottles. In addition to the traditional products in red and blue SIGG sets in the recent past also known designers such as Keith Haring for the current collection.
