Sigge Fürst

Sigge prince (actually Sigurd prince pronunciation: [ ˌ sig ː ə ː ʈ fyʂ ], born November 3, 1905 in Stockholm, † June 11, 1984 ) was a Swedish actor and singer. He was a presenter on Swedish television and often played at various theaters of the country.

Prince was initially policeman and also starred in several films a police officer. His artistic career began in 1931 at the Academy Theatre in Stockholm. After that he played in the same city at Folkets Hus and on outdoor stages throughout the country. Prince was a respected singer of several gramophone records grossed including Samling pump vid, Stadsbudsvisan and Vi har en skjutit gök.

In the 1940s, he was employed by various private theaters in Stockholm. Early 1960s brought him to the Royal Dramatic Theatre Ingmar Bergman. There he played character roles as Puntila in Bertolt Brecht Puntila and his Man Matti. In the meantime, Prince gave guest performances in the Oscar Theatre. Besides his work in television, he has had numerous major and minor roles in Swedish movies.
