Sigil (application)

Sigil is an open- source editor, developed from 2009 to July 2011 by Strahinja Markovic and now of John Schember. In August 2009, the first version was released. The aim of the project is to create a user-friendly editor for EPUB documents. Sigil supports both WYSIWYG and directly editing the HTML source code.

  • Except for a few dialogs, the program is multi-lingual, German is also supported.

Technology

The application is largely based written in the C programming language on Qt framework. Sigil is released under the terms of version 3 of the GNU General Public License (GPL) as free software in the source code.
