Sigma SD15

The Sigma SD15 is the fourth digital SLR Sigma after the SD9, SD10 and SD 14 The SD15 was developed from the SD14.

Like all digital SLR cameras Sigma SD15 uses a Foveon X3 direct image sensor. The camera has a Sigma Lens port corresponding to the K -mount with a 1.5 mm lower flange (44 mm). The use of M42 lenses is possible using the adapter, which are then turned through 90 °.

Unlike their predecessors, SD9 and SD10 SD14 has as a built-in flash can save images in JPEG mode and no longer has the sigma outer bayonet of predecessors ( for but never were offered lenses). The sigma- inner bayonet remained compatible. The number of pixels of the CMOS image sensor is for each of the colors red, green and blue, about 4.7 million, so that for each shot are about 14 million measurement values.

The SD15 is equipped with the new "TRUE II" image processor. Images are stored on SD or SDHC and MMC cards, and thus replaced the previously used CF cards.
