Sigurður Jónsson

Sigurdur Jónsson ( born September 27, 1966 in Akranes ) is a retired Icelandic footballer who began a coaching career after he finished his career.

Career

Sigurdur made ​​his debut as a young emerging talent at the age of 15 years in 1982 for ÍA Akranes in the first deild. Already in the following year he made his debut in the Icelandic national team. In 1984 he moved to Sheffield Wednesday in the First Division. At first he was only a reserve player in the English top flight, so it was the following year awarded to the second division Barnsley FC in the Second Division. After his return in the summer of 1986 he came though frequently used, but only in the season 1988/89 he was propagated on the court and played 28 season games.
