Tavern " new " crown of 1796

Sihlbrugg is a hamlet and transport hub on the border between the Canton train and the canton of Zurich in Switzerland. For better distinction from something sihlabwärts lying hamlet Sihlbrugg - a district of the municipality of Zurich Horgen - is also the name Sihlbrugg village common.

At the village of the four municipalities Baar, ZG Neuheim, Hausen am Albis and Hirzel are involved. Sihlbrugg lies mostly on the Baarerboden, south of Sihlzopfs and at the foot of the eastern Hirzel Pass. During 600 years ago, the old mule track as part of the Gotthard route from Sihlbrugg on the Hirzel Höhi to Horgen.

On Baarerboden the close Sihltal opens shortly before it is squeezed through in the direction of Zurich on Sihlzopf between Zimmerberg and Albis. History

Berchtold of Schnabelburg was in the 13th century under the Emperor Frederick II Vogt on the Albis. At that belonged to the Bailiwick Rattlisberg, the western slope between the Castle and the beak Sihlfurt Babenwag. Already in 1267 led the old mule trail as part of the Gotthard route from Horgen to Sihlbrugg, where there was a tavern. 1385 a bridge ( sil brugge ) is mentioned for the first time. Due to the increasing horse and foot traffic in the 14th century stables were established in 1528 and the house turned into a customs station.
