Å ilainiai

Šilainiai is a district of Kaunas, the second largest city in Lithuania, north of the Vilijampolė district. The municipality Šilainiai is 5.8 km ² and has 40,600 inhabitants. There is a health clinic, pharmacy, post office departments, bookstores, supermarkets, the Catholic Holy Ghost Church Kaunas and the cemetery Maironiškiai.

History

Here was formerly the village Silaine. The northeastern part was formerly Milikoniai and the southwestern Smėliais.
