Silence (Band)

Silence is a Slovenian synth pop band.

History

Silence published in 1997 their debut album Ma Non Troppo on Chome Records. It was followed by a tour with the synth-pop group Distain! , The album Unlike a Virgin in 1999 and the soundtrack to the stage play Maison Des Rendez -Vous 2003.

Published in 2004 the fourth studio album by Silence, Vain (A Tribute To A Ghost ). It deals with the mysterious life and death of the (hypothetical) artist Matej Smolnik, aka " Vain ". It also includes a cover version of Kraftwerk- Hall Of Mirrors song with Anne Clark.

Silence set to music several contemporary plays. Among other things, 2005 was the soundtrack album Veronika a ballet adaptation of Veronika Decides to Die. After Silence toured as backing from Diary Of Dreams and switched to their label Accession.

In cooperation with the Slovenian music and art project Ljubljana was established in 2006 which released under the band name album people - a subversive reinterpretation of the national anthems of 14 countries, with the single release Anglia (England).

2012 appeared with Musical Accompaniment for the End of the World, the first regular album in Vain by 2004. To meet its dramatic atmosphere, the publication has been placed on the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.
