Silesian Autonomy Movement
The Movement for the Autonomy of Silesia (Polish: Ruch Autonomii Śląska (short RAŚ ), Schleswig. Ruch Autůnůmije Ślůnska ) is a inter alia, politically active citizens' movement in Poland, founded after the fall of 1990. Chairman of the movement is currently Jerzy Gorzelik.
Idea
Both in the time of the principalities of the Piast dynasty, the Prussian provinces of Silesia, Lower and Upper Silesia, the region as a part of Austria as well as the Autonomous Silesian Voivodeship Carrying on the rich traditions of the Silesian Autonomy in the Second Polish Republic, the movement, the region has Upper Silesia and the Silesian made as a population group to the object of politics. Your goal is including increased self-administration of the two Upper Silesian Voivodeship Silesian and Opole.
History
The Movement for the Autonomy of Silesia was founded by Rudolf Kołodziejczyk in Rybnik in January 1990.
Since 2010, the RAŚ was involved in the coalition in the government of the Silesian Voivodeship. Cooperation with the PO ended the RAŚ in April 2013.

Cooperations
In Germany, the initiative of the autonomy of Silesia eV (short IAS) in Würzburg exists and was founded independent of the active in Poland RAŚ. On October 17, 2009, the Polish RAŚ and the British Silesian Autonomy Movement (short SAM) in Opole German IAS signed a cooperation agreement. At the last board meeting, the IAS has made an addition to the statutes and the club name. The focus of the initiative of the cultural autonomy of Silesia eV (short IKAS ) is located in the historical and political scrutiny and cultural work.
