Silesian Metropolis

The Metropolia Silesia, formerly Upper Silesian Metropolitan Union (Polish: Upper Silesia Metropolitalny, short GZM ), a local association in the Polish province of Silesia is a metropolitan area. The Upper Silesian Metropolitan Union was founded on 8 June 2007 from 14 cities of the Upper Silesian industrial region and the small Polish Dombrowa coal basin.

One of his main tasks is to transport the coordination and promotion of regional transport projects such as the Upper Silesian tram and improving the EU Mittelabrufung are in favor of the region. In cities of the grouping about 2 million inhabitants.
