Siliguri ( Bengali: শিলিগুড়ি, Siliguri, English: Siliguri ) is a city in the northern Indian state of West Bengal, with approximately 650,000 inhabitants ( 2011 census ). It is the largest city of the district of Darjeeling. The predominant languages ​​in the city are Bengali and Nepali.

The center Shiliguris is approximately 10 kilometers north of the important railway junction for the region New Jalpaiguri ( NJP Train Station), from where the entire rail traffic into the East Indian territories of Assam, Tripura and Nagaland, but also in the northern Bangladesh. The nearest airport is Bagdogra, 15 km away in the west.
