Simao District

Simao (思茅 区) is the administrative center and only city of the district of the city of Pu'er in Yunnan Province, China. On 21 January 2007, the former municipality Cuiyun in Simao and the former city were renamed Pu'er Simao.

Geography and population

The municipality has an area of ​​Simao 4093 km ² and around 200,000 inhabitants ( 2004).

Administrative divisions

At the community level Simao is composed of four large municipalities, a municipality and two Nationality communities. These are:

  • Greater community Nanping (南屏 镇);

  • Greater community Simaogang (思茅 港镇);
