Simargl

Simargl is a god of the Slavic mythology. According to the Primary Chronicle, he was next to Perun, Dažbog, choir, Stribog and Mokosch one of the main gods that Prince Vladimir I. erected statues in Kiev. According to the antiheidnischen treatise Slovo nekojego christoljubca, this concerns two gods with the name Sim and Rgl.

His responsibility is unknown. Etymological comparisons take him with the Persian mythical creature Simurgh in conjunction, another interpretation derives its name from the Slavic words semja ( family) and Rz ( rye) and writes it the function of a protector of cattle and harvest.

On silver bracelets of Kiev from the 11th to the 13th century, the Simargl are supposed to represent, he had the look of a dog with the head and wings of a griffin.
