Å ime Vrsaljko

Sime Vrsaljko ( ʃi ː ː sa ː vr mɛ ʎkɔ; * 10 January 1992 in Zadar) is a Croatian football player. Since 2013 he is at Genoa under contract.

Career

Association

Vrsaljko began in the youth of Dinamo Zagreb play with the football. At the beginning of the 2009/10 season he was loaned to NK Lokomotiva Zagreb, the training team of Dinamo Zagreb. On 26 July 2009, he made ​​his debut there at the age of 16 years in the first HNL, the highest Croatian league. As a result, he came in all league games of the season so far used. During the winter break of the same season, he returned to Dinamo Zagreb and ran there on in another ten games. His first game for Dinamo played Vrsaljko 27 February 2010 against NK Croatia Sesvete. His first international appearance was Vrsaljko on August 4, 2010 in the 3rd round of qualifying for the Champions League against Sheriff Tiraspol from Moldova, who went but lost on penalties. In the following play-off games for the qualification for the Europa League against Hungarian club Gyori ETO FC and in five games of the subsequent group stage, he was also used. This season he played regularly in the league. 29 August 2010 Vrsaljko scored in a 2-0 win over Cibalia Vinkovci his first goal in professional football. 2010 Vrsaljko was awarded the Hope of the Year Award for best young player in the league. At the end of the season Dinamo was again able to win the championship and secured with two significant victories over NK Varaždin in the Croatian Cup final the Double. This success was repeated in 2012.

In the summer of 2013 Vrsaljko changed for four million euros to the Italian first division Genoa. He signed a contract until 2017.

National

Vrsaljko went through numerous junior national teams of Croatia. So he took in 2010 at the U -19 European part. During the tournament, he was used four times, including the semi-final against the hosts and eventual champions France, which was lost 2-1. For the U-21 national team, he played in five games so far, the first time on March 2, 2010 against France.

On 2 November 2010 he stood for the European Championship qualifier against Malta for the first time in the squad of the Croatian national team. His first senior international Vrsaljko then completed on 9 February 2011 against the Czech Republic. From coach Slaven Bilic he was called into the squad for the 2012 European Championship.
