Simeis 147

Shimei 147 (also Simeiz 147, shortly S147; another name: Sh2 -240 ) is a galactic supernova remnant in the constellations of Taurus and Auriga.

S147 has an apparent extent of about 3 degrees; this corresponds to an extent of about 140 light-years at an estimated distance of 3,000 light years. It is about 40,000 years old.
