Simen Østensen

Simen Østensen (* August 4, 1984 ) is a Norwegian cross-country skier. His first club was Fossum IF.

His World Cup debut Østensen in the 2005/2006 season with a 50 - km race at Holmenkollen, although he gave up.

He became famous for his third place at the Tour de Ski 2006/2007. He was only four seconds behind the runner-up, Alexander Legkow, and 50 seconds behind the winner Tobias Angerer. As he had previously denied just a race, this success came as a surprise even for experts.

Since the Tour de Ski Simen Østensen one squad to the root of the Norwegian cross-country skiing team. Although he has been able to celebrate any World Cup victory, but he was twice qualifying fastest in his strongest discipline, the sprint.

At the Tour de Ski 2007/2008 Østensen wore after the sprint in Prague on December 30, 2007, the Golden jersey, so he was first overall, since he had become the sprint second behind Nikolai Morilow. The Czech Lukas Bauer took the leadership position, however, already at the next race.
