Simon Bar Jona Madelka

Szymon Bar Jona Madelka (* 1530 in Opole, † about 1598 in Plzeň) was a Polish composer.

About the early years Madelkas nothing is known. 1575 he came to Pilsen, where he was a member of the butchers' guild. Later, he became master of the guild, alderman of the city and cantor. Of his compositions eight Magnificat and the Seven Penitential Psalms have survived.
