Simon Dumont

Simon Francis Dumont ( born July 9, 1986 in Bethel, Maine) is a professional American freestyle skier.

Career

First competitions denied Dumont in 2003 when he won the Whistler Invitational superhit and the U.S. Open went to fourth place.

2004 Dumont surprised the audience by the gold medal in the superpipe at the Winter X Games won and was able to classify well in other major competitions.

In the 2005 season Dumont could again win the gold medal in the superpipe at the Winter X Games and so secure the reputation as the best superpipe riders. In other disciplines, the X Games, he became the second and fourth.

While filming in Park City, Utah jumped Dumont at a Gap, which was about 30 meters long, 30 meters to the other, making it a broken pelvis in three places and a ruptured spleen drew upon. Eight weeks after this serious accident Dumont was skiing again.

In the X Games 2007 Dumont binned in the superpipe in second place behind Tanner Hall. He also reached at Europe's largest freestyle event, freestyle.ch in Zurich ( Switzerland ), 1st place in the crossover session and the 3rd place in the Freeskifinale. He is the first freeskiers, who won the Crossover Session, this he achieved with a double front flip ( double front flip ) in the final.

Simon Dumont in 2008 landed at the X Games Superpipe again in second place behind his old rival Tanner Hall. The result of the jugdes was largely commented on by the public with incomprehension and "Boo " - Call.

On 11 April 2008 he set a new world record for the highest jump in a quarter pipe with 35 feet or 10.67 meters.

At the Winter X Games 2009 he won third place in the Superpipe standings and went on to win gold in the BigAir -Competition ago superstar Jon Olsson.
