Simon Jenko

Simon Jenko ( born October 27, 1835 in Podreča, Slovenia, † October 18, 1869 in Kranj, Slovenia) was a Slovenian poet.

He is considered the greatest poet of Slovene literature during the Romantic and realism. Simon Jenko wrote, among other things, the text of the old Slovenian national anthem Naprej zastava slave.
