Simon Mrashani

Mrashani Simon (Simon Mrashani Basiligitwa; born 18 April 1964) is a former Tanzanian marathon runner.

In 1991, he won the Lake Biwa Marathon with his personal best of 2:11:34 h, but did not reach at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo the target. The Pan-African Games in 1995 in Harare, he won bronze.

In 1998, he was sixth at the Vienna City Marathon and won silver at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur behind Thabiso Paul Moqhali from Lesotho and ahead of his compatriot Andea Geway Suja.

In 2003 he competed in the Singapore Marathon, but only came to 18th place.

How Suja he is an employee of the police school in Moshi. His sister Banuelia Katesigwa was also successful as a marathon runner.
