Simona Miculescu

Simona Mirela - Miculescu ( born July 4, 1959) is a Romanian diplomat.

Miculescu studied at the " Mihai Eminescu " College, Satu -Mare and the "Babes -Bolyai " University in Cluj. In 1992 she attended a training course on diplomacy at the Institute of International Relations of the University of Leeds. From 1995 to 1997, a graduate degree at George Washington University in Washington DC closed of. In 1999, she earned a doctorate at the "Babes -Bolyai " University in Cluj- Napoca. From 1991 to 1992 she held various offices in the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From October 1999 until December 2000, was diplomatic adviser and officer in the Press Office and Public Relations Department of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo.

Miculescu currently serves as Permanent Representative of Romania to the United Nations in New York with the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. It was accredited on June 5, 2008. She is Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Romania and the first woman in the history of Romania with the rank of ambassador.
