Simone Hauswald

Simone Hye -Soon Hauswald ( May 3, 1979 in Rottweil as Simone Hye -Soon Denkinger ) is a former German biathlete.

Career

At the age of six years, the daughter of a South Korean mother and a German began the cross-country skiing. She graduated from the Skiinternat Furtwangen. Four years later, she moved to biathlon. The nadir of the sports career soldier was in 2002 when she slipped on a patch of ice and thereby the tibia broke, so it was thrown back in their athletic development by one year.

At the Olympic Winter Games 2006 in Turin, she was indeed traveled with the German team, but was only nominated as a substitute runner. Therefore Hauswald traveled soon after the start of the games back into the home Wehingen to train for subsequent competitions.

In her season debut in the World Cup Simone Hauswald was the second race weekend of the 2008/2009 season in Hochfilzen in the 7.5 km sprint after a flawless shooting performance for the first time in a World Cup race at the top of the podium, the pursuit the next day, she finished as third parties. In the Biathlon World Championships 2009 was Hauswald second in the sprint behind Kati Wilhelm and won their only individual medal at a World Cup. In the subsequent persecution she managed twelfth place after they had eight missed shots. At the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010, she won bronze in the mass start and bronze in the relay with Kati Wilhelm, Martina Beck, Andrea Henkel and.

After their victory in the sprint from Oslo on 18 March 2010, she announced along with Martina Beck to end their athletic career after the 2009/2010 season. Hauswald crowned her career when she unlocked with the first place in the Pursuit of the few female biathlete were able to celebrate World Cup success in all disciplines, and also won every single race at Holmenkollen after the mass start. On 25 March 2010 Hauswald won by the fourth place in the sprint in Khanty-Mansiysk the Sprint Cup the Biathlon World Cup 2009/2010. In the overall standings the Biathlon World Cup 2009/2010 she reached the second place.

In the last race of her career, she won on March 28, 2010 in Khanty-Mansiysk, together with Magdalena Neuner, Simon Schempp and Arnd Peiffer the world title in the mixed relay.

Private life

In May 2008 she married while vacationing her friend and coach Steffen Hauswald. On December 30 2011 House Forest gave birth to twins.
