Sinclair Oil Corporation

Sinclair Oil is an American company based in Salt Lake City.

The company is active in the petroleum industry. Sinclair Oil operates, among other stations in various U.S. states. Sinclair Oil was founded on May 1, 1916 by Harry F. Sinclair. In 1969 the company was acquired by the Atlantic Richfield Company ( ARCO ). In 1976 the company was sold to the Sinclair U.S. entrepreneur Earl Holding.

The Sinclair Oil was in the 1920s, the focus of the Teapot Dome scandal.
