Singapore Democratic Alliance
The Singapore Democratic Alliance (abbreviated SDA; Chinese:新加坡 民主 联盟) is an oppositional party alliance in Singapore. It was founded in 2001 shortly before the parliamentary elections to form a bundled opposition to the People's Action Party ( Singapore) ( PAP). The alliance was led by Singapore People's Party under Chiam See Tong. The alliance consisted of the following parties:
- Singapore Malay National Organization ( PKMS )
- Singapore People's Party (SPP )
- Singapore Justice Party ( SJP )
- National Solidarity Party (NSP )
In 2007, the NSP triggered the alliance. In February 2011, Chiam was voted out as chairman, after which he announced that the SPP also splits.
