Singlis is a district of Borken in the Schwalm -Eder -Kreis. The district Singlis located northeast of Borken and has a size of 503 hectares.

In Singlis the coming of Pfaffenhausen Gilsbach opens into the Schwalm. On the outskirts of Singliser lake is a major surfing area.

Singlis can be easily reached via the Main- Weser Railway. On Singlis station keep the lines RT9 and R30 of the NPT.

History

The story of Singlis can be traced back to the Stone Age.

The first mention was 775 in a freight directory of Hersfeld Monastery under the name " Sungsule ".

In the following centuries presence of the noble dynasty of Zuschen in Singlis was wealthy rich. In 1265 the Züschener sold their goods in Singlis including all accessories, including the mill and the court in Singlis and Nordwig, to the monastery Haina. The monastery built his new property with about 55 acres of land from one of its most important economic courtyards. During the Reformation and the dissolution of the monastery whose farm was assigned in Singlis his income in 1540 by Landgrave Philip the Magnanimous, the University of Marburg. The farm was a landgrave Vogt assumed and called himself " University Bailiwick Singlis ". Middle of the 19th century, the farm was sold, and later the lands were sold to individual farmers Singliser.

The present site of the church was probably the center of the settlement in the early Middle Ages.
