Sinsheim ( Elsenz ) Hauptbahnhof, by 2010 only Sinsheim ( Elsenz ), lies on the railway line Neckargemuend bath Friedrich -Jagstfeld. The station is part of the association area of the transport association Rhein- Neckar and is an important railway station in the Kraichgau. History
The station was opened in 1868 to coincide with the route section Mecke Home Rappenau the railway line Neckargemuend bath Friedrich -Jagstfeld the Grand Ducal Baden State Railways, served as a center for their opening ceremony Sinsheim. The station building was built in 1867/68. It was designed in the Weinbrenner style of a pupil of the architect Friedrich Weinbrenner. The building with ground floor, upper floor and attic is entered in the list of cultural monuments of Baden-Württemberg.
In 1900, the station facilities were expanded, thereby originated the overpass Dührener road.
2009 started the town of Sinsheim, to renovate the station building and the surrounding area, a park - and-ride car park was set up and designed the bus station otherwise. Description
The station building with the largely symmetrical floor plan is centered on the axis of the Bahnhofstrasse at the southern end. The platform side is the south side of the building. The station has three tracks. Track 1 is located on the main platform and the tracks 2 and 3 are located on a central platform.
