Siobhán Donaghy

Siobhán Emma Donaghy ( born June 14, 1984 in London) is a British singer, musician and songwriter of Irish descent who also served as producer on most of their songs. She is best known as a founding member of the British girl group Sugababes, from which it split at the end of 2001.

1998 met Donaghy at a party Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan know and contacted the producer Cameron McVey. The Sugababes were founded. The end of 2001 she separated from the band and was replaced by Heidi Range, one of the former Atomic Kitten - singers in early 2002. She then pursued a solo career.

Solo

The published in September 2003 first solo album by Donaghy named Revolution in Me In comparison to the Sugababes songs the music of the solo debut is usually considered to be less cheerful felt, was oriented while the pop style of Sugababes, but with influences from electronic music, indie and experimental.

Two songs were released as singles. In June 2003 appeared Overrated, which reached number 19 in the UK charts. The second single Twist of Fate was released in September 2003, but reached no higher chart position. Since the sales success of the singles and the album remained below expectations, Donaghy lost shortly after their recording contract with London Records.

2005 Donaghy was heard on the album Signs of a Struggle by Mattafix as a background singer in the song To & Fro and Everyone Around You, as well as in Morcheebas song Everybody Loves a Loser. Mid-2006 were songs from their second album, released in June 2007 under the name Ghosts, released on Donaghys MySpace page.

After four years, appeared in April 2007, the first single Do not Give It Up from the second album Ghosts; the video of it was filmed, directed by Sophie Muller in Morocco. The second single So You Say was released in early July 2007. Afterwards, she appeared in the musical RENT in London's West End, which ran from October 2007 to February 2008. There she played the role of Mimi.

In 2009, she appeared on the song Styfling with the band Square One. However, the song was able to reach the charts in any country. Although she said in January 2009 in an interview that she was not planning any further release of an album, she said in June 2009 in an interview that she would be working on new music, however was unsure if she would finish the work on it.

On July 20, 2012, about Siobhan Donaghys Twitter account and on the music website Popjustice. announced that the original members of the Sugababes have reformed under a new name. In future, the band will perform under the name Mutya Keisha Siobhan.
